For The Soul Spill, we centered our campaign around the themes woven into the poetry, forging a deep connection with the audience over universal experiences like love, healing, heartbreak, and human evolution.
This approach sparked immediate resonance, drawing poetry enthusiasts and newcomers alike to grab their copies. They eagerly joined virtual readings, and our launch parties sold out in days. Why? Because the message of connection transcended the medium—the poems were simply the vessel for a more profound dialogue.

Content elements
We began the branding process by crafting the narrative of a book that resonated beyond words; an invitation for the reader to explore their own depths. We chose fonts that were both contemporary and timeless, balancing sophistication with warmth. This invited readers to explore the text as they would a conversation with a friend and purchase the book as a natural progression to their own healing journey.
VISUAL BOUNDARIES
We centered our content not just on the healing potential for the reader but also invited them into the book’s creation process. This made them feel like co-creators alongside the author and illustrator as The Soul Spill took flight.
With the pre-order launch, we shared behind-the-scenes content that showcased the creative journey, inspiring people to support the process in real time. It was less about a transaction and more about fostering a vibrant community invested in the story of a self published author and illustrator.
Design
With stunning illustrated imagery already featured throughout the book, we opted for simple branding that allowed the beauty of the book’s words and illustrations to draw readers into its world. A neutral, earthy palette was chosen to highlight the richness of the product itself, creating an inviting atmosphere that complemented the work itself.

Next, we tackled the logistics of coordinating with factories in China, managing everything from prototypes to production runs. We ensured every detail was on point, navigating the complexities of international shipping with ease.
Launching a book is a journey of transformation. From the initial spark to the final product, we orchestrated every detail with finesse, assembling a talented team for the layout process, handpicking designers and editors who understood the vision.
As the launch approached, we crafted a strategic pre-order campaign, meticulously managing budgets and timelines to guarantee a successful holiday debut. We balanced creativity with practicality, transforming challenges into opportunities.
We created strategic partnerships with Hotels like Moxy/AC in Los Angeles and The Untitled Hotel in NYC to host experiential events. Poetry readings, parties with live music and writing workshops allowed guests to not only meet the author and illustrator, but to walk away feeling inspired to follow their own journey to healing just a little bit more bravely.
Cali Rosa came on board not only as sponsor for these events, but as a collaborator. We created Cali Rosa cocktails based on chapters of the book for the guests to enjoy. These cocktail recipes were then featured on Cali Rosa and the author's socials so fans could join in from their own kitchen's.

Sold-out poetry events, strategic brand partnerships, and user-generated content formed a unique platform that transcended the idea of just 'selling books'. By connecting with readers on an emotional level and guiding them through their healing journeys, we positioned poetry as a vessel for connection. The outcome? A vibrant community of devoted fans who now see poetry as essential. We didn’t just sell books; we created a movement.
